The Pure Pup Bakery Story:
The day before my 2 year old dog Mya had her well check I took her shopping to the "pet super market" to ease those pet parent guilts, when you know they will not be happy getting shots and a nail trim. I showed her the fancy treat bar and she picked a few out along with a new collar.
On the way to the vet the next day she started barking and crying in the back seat. By the time I could safely pull over, she had explosive diarrhea all over the back seat!
Once, that was cleaned up we made it to the vet. Our veterinarian explained that many treats had ingredients that tricked dogs into eating them and these ingredients can cause stomach issues such as explosive diarrhea!
Ingredients such as sugar, artificial flavors, rendered fat, chemical preservatives, salt, Propylene Glycol, meat meal, corn syrup, and others are actually harmful and can lead to disease such as diabetes and heart problems.
This was the day I decided to make dog treats!
I knew there had to be a way to make better treats. It actually took about 18 months to research and develop the recipes to comply with all the Virginia Department of Agriculture regulations and create treats dogs would like to eat.
I will not put anything in the treats that I won't eat myself."
