The Grateful Hippie

Hi, I’m Jennifer Taylor Young owner of The Grateful Hippie, an apparel and gift boutique. I have lived in Front Royal since 2019, but I have been a visitor to the Shenandoah Valley since I was a kid. I started tie dyeing back in 2010 and my then boyfriend ( now husband!) pushed me into vending my hand dyed goods in Fairfax in 2013. In 2020 I started making cold process soap and launched my small batch soap line in 2022. I offer a few different soap bar options catering to people with allergies and skin sensitivities, including nut free, avocado free, coconut free, gluten free, local pasture raised and vegan.

New this year, I will be offering a selection of package free -bring your own recycled container – products like laundry soap, dish soap, hair care, lotion and more. The refillable products will begin exclusive to the DL Market, but I plan to expand to a scheduled delivery curbside refill service soon. Shopping small with me not only supports my family, but proceeds also support Grateful Heads Inc 501c. Grateful Heads Inc biased in Roanoke, VA is an organization of professional dyers like myself, that provides hand dyed head coverings to people undergoing cancer treatment. “Together we strive to make a difference by providing a little love and color to those who need it.”
