Whisper Meadow Farm

Whistler Meadow Farm (www.whistlermeadowfarm.com) is nature restoration project in theShenandoah Valley. The property was previously run by Sieren's parents, who had a small vineyard on the site. Sieren and her partner Steve purchased the property in 2021, with the goals of restoring the nature and soil health on the landscape and growing their own food. The conservation project on the property has involved converting acres of lawn and pasture back to native meadow, enhancing biodiversity, supporting pollinators, and improving the health of the soil. Native meadows require fewer resources such as water and fertilizers and provide critical habitat for a wide range of wildlife.

At Whistler Meadow we grow a diverse mix of annual and perennial fruits and vegetables without pesticides, fertilizers, or plastic. Our intercropped systems help to build soil health and reduce pest outbreaks, which reduces water requirements and eliminates the need for chemical interventions. While most of our food production goes to family, friends, neighbors, we sell some surplus small markets, and enjoy the connection that comes along with participating in the local economy.
